A Mother’s Touch

There are no words to describe the journey we have been on the past 4 days. We have learned more medical terminology than we knew existed, names of medical staff, names of medications, and names of medical procedures. The one thing we have witnessed most is the healing power of a parents touch, the incredible power of compassionate nurses and the awesomeness of God’s mighty love for his children. Your prayers are being heard and we thank you all for your thoughts, messages, and love for our son!

We got to Owen’s room this morning and the peace transcending it was felt as you walked in the door. Our little dose of perfection continues to win over the hearts of everyone around him. Every one that walks in the door says “Look at that cute little blondie!”. Owen is continuing to make tiny little improvements. The doctors say that he is slower than the average kiddo but he is moving in the right direction. Although the doctors are still reluctant to call Owen’s condition stable, it is apparent that his body is starting to heal.

We ask that you continue to pray for urine output and that his blood pressure remain stable. We are praying that they can do the procedure to close his chest on Monday and that he will not encounter setbacks from that procedure. Please pray that he is protected from infection as every day with his chest open the risk is great. Please pray for continued peace and rest for his Mommy and Daddy.

Mommy continues to give him kisses daily and we truly believe that there is no better medicine than a mother’s touch!

Wishing you all a blessed Sunday!

  1. Many prayers to the Vatter family! Owen is the first one I think about when I awake and the last before bedtime. He is a strong little guy.

  2. Onward and upward, soldiers! God has His plan for Owen. We have no clue what it is and remain faithful that He is the One in charge here! “Blond cutie”….I LIKE THAT!!!

  3. Praying for you and your little bundle of perfection. Looking forward to seeing you and meeting him soon!
